Daily Notes
Upon getting up this morning I thought that I would check my Wyoming Mega Millions ticket. I have been doing my “17 second routine” before checking my tickets as of late, but since that doesn’t seem to have been working, I thought I would just check my ticket before doing anything this morning. The Result: NO WIN (see photo to the left).
Our daughter had an orthodontist appointment this afternoon, so I had to do errands this morning and get the van back so my wife could take her. Such is the case when you only have one car to deal with! We’re thinking of getting another Camry at some point, but a newer model that the kids won’t be ashamed to be seen in… 🙂
I thought that I would stop by “Quality Foods” for their pancake breakfast this morning (see photo to the right). No toast, and you have to pay for coffee refills, which is a bit of a disappointment. The bacon was delicious I must say. While there I watched a bit of the “Aussie Farming In The Philippines” YouTube channel.
Next on the agenda was a trip to “Price’s Lock & Key” in Courtenay to get some extra mailbox keys made. I then went to Staples to get their commercial 100-sheet shredder, which was on sale.
Canadian Tire was next, and I picked up a number of items there:
- An engraver tool to engrave initials on the newly created mailbox (and other) keys.
- Two garden hoses, one for the front of the house and the other to water our newly created compost heap.
- A large hex wrench for some IKEA furniture my wife is assembling.
- Bear bell
- Large bucket to soak my feet… 🙂
- Manure pitch fork
I was planning on picking up some bear spray as well, but they needed a driver’s license and the lady at ServiceBC in Campbell River didn’t give me my NC license back yesterday. As it turns out, she was supposed to keep it. She did give me a temporary paper to show that my BC Driver’s License is in the mail should anyone ask. I will take this back to Canadian Tire to get the bear spray at some point.
I had an interesting little game on the way to Canadian Tire. I was thinking about how the Universe is supposed to bend over backwards to give me whatever I want. Well, I got a fantastic handicapped parking spot in front of Canadian Tire! I did however forget to put the handicapped sign up, so I got a “notice” (not a ticket), that I should think of parking somewhere else.
This evening I went to “The Great Canadian Superstore” to get some Epsom Salts to soak my feet, along with other groceries such as milk, OJ, and lemonade.
Our son has been spending a lot of time online and we are trying to figure out activities that he can do “offline”. He said that he likes to write, so our daughter has offered to help him out, and will be encouraging him to find various hobbies that he can explore. Nice to have such a great big sister!!!
