Welcome to Day #6 of “The Magic”, which is “Works Like Magic”. As soon as I got up this morning, I thought of how great it is for yet another beautiful day in which to manifest into my life all the wonderful things I am thinking about. I quickly wrote down the 10 things that I am grateful for today. You can read about them in “My Daily Journal”.
I have added another item to my manifestation list in Courtenay (see photo to the left) and it would be a great property to add to my list of things to purchase with the $143 million dollars! I have been thinking that with that kind of money I would like to have a property with lots of acreage, and this certainly fits the bill with 100 acres (about half the total floor space of the Pentagon) and a private lake!
My wife has mentioned that she would like to set up a home to house orphan children and this would be an option. Another option, which is a dream of mine, is to build a camp or ranch, like the Imus Ranch, where underprivileged children could go to learn life skills. Can’t you see the kids enjoying the fresh lake water to chase away the heat of the day? The photo to the right from the property listing shows a young girl doing just that.
Taking care of the various animals on the ranch, like horses, goats, and cows, would teach the children great life lessons of responsibility.
In addition, wouldn’t it be nice to have the orphans who grow up here come back when they are older and help out as camp counsellors? What better way to help other orphans than being able to say that I was in exactly your same shoes, at this same camp, 20 or so years ago. Maybe I could offer to pay their whole College education on camp counselling or psychology or something to help them be able to help the other orphans when they come back. You can see a couple of nice overview shots of the property in the photos to the right. You could certainly do a lot with 100 acres of land!
When I was thinking about how to come up with the money to purchase this place, the story of Ken Kawasaki of “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” fame came to mind. He said that if he became poor overnight, he would be rich again in no time by teaming up with someone who had money.
Following this train of thought, maybe I just need to find someone who has money and is looking to do something like this but is looking for someone with a passion for a venture like this? The next question then becomes how would I find these people? The thought came to mind to just email people who I thought might be able to help, like venture capitalists or those who are doing this sort of thing. I could tell them my idea and see if they could offer advice. One thing might lead to another and voila!
So, we will see what happens…
I drove out to the Wingman restaurant in Carrboro this afternoon and grabbed a cup of “Sierra Madre Single Origin” black coffee at the service station along the way (see photo to the right). As an interesting note, I was able to get a parking spot just outside the Wingman, a perfect location to take this particular photo. I was not thinking of securing a great parking spot on the drive over, but is it perhaps the Universe wanted to reward me in this small way for being grateful as a mindset? Interesting thought, and from what I am reading, definitely possible.
Today’s lesson focused on your job and how to be grateful for it. My current job is retirement, so it is much easier to be grateful for this job as it allows me the flexibility to do whatever I want during the day! It would have been a more challenging exercise if I were still working at Credit Suisse or AICPA.
Here is what I came up with:
- I am so grateful for my current job, retirement, as it frees up all these hours in the day to do whatever I want.
- I am so grateful for my current job, retirement, as those government pension checks keep rolling in month after month no matter what.
- I am so grateful for my current job, retirement, as it gives me the opportunity to go to coffee shops and spend the day visualizing the future.
- I am so grateful for my current job, retirement, as I can go to the gym whenever I want and stay as long as I want.
- I am so grateful for my current job, retirement, as I can drive around and see sites I used to frequent like Wingman.
- I am so grateful for my current “part time” job, Etsy & Printful, as they give me the opportunity to produce great slogans, catchy lines, and make money from them.
This afternoon I started to talk to my wife about this property outside Courtenay that would be great for a camp for kids, but after I talked about visualizing the millions of dollars needed to purchase it, I sensed that she had enough of this talk. I do not think she totally understands the power of the secret (nor do I), so I am going to not talk about it as much with her moving forward unless she inquires.
This evening I asked my daughter what she thought of “The Secret” and she said that it must work as there is a lot of evidence that it does. She recalled the story of Morris E. Goodman from the movie and how he was able to walk away from a plane crash despite the fact that doctors said that he would be paralyzed for life. I replayed this scene from “The Secret” movie on the big screen television in the living room and Saul used the word that he would be a “vegetable.” My daughter had never heard this word before, so we talked about that for a bit.
