Daily Notes

I really regret getting that beer last night. It dehydrated me during the night, meaning I had to have frequent glasses of water, meaning I was up going to the bathroom quite a bit during the night. Hopefully I will not be too tired as the day progresses…

The Keurig coffee machine (see photo to the left) gave both my wife and I a nice dose of caffeine to get the day started. Not too much for my wife, and lots of milk in it. More milk with coffee than coffee with milk.

We hit the road around 9ish am, right after a minute long “Visualization” ritual. This morning start was much earlier than yesterday, which is good. My air buds are synced with my Kindle, so I cannot connect them to my Andriod phone. The Kindle is in my backpack in the back of the van, so I will have to start listening to my audio books tomorrow!

We quickly saw the mountains fade into rolling hills as we hit the Ohio border. I already have my Virginia and West Virginia lottery tickets, so I’m good to go till I hit Illinois!

In the small town of Washington Court, Ohio we stopped at a Marathon gas station for gas and to use the bathroom. The bathroom was disgusting, so I bought my son a bag of chips and we were off down the road… 🙂 We ended up at a Tim Horton’s of all things. The kids wanted to eat at Wendy’s, so I only bought a box of 20 Timbits, and we drove to the Wendy’s next door and bought food there. Oh, remember the Marathon gas station I mentioned at the start of this paragraph? Well, we stopped off there for some gas as we were leaving town… 🙂

Next up was the Indianapolis state border. Did we ever notice the difference in the highway system! The Ohio roads were all paved, but the Indianapolis ones needed a lot of work. They were quite bumpy, but my son was so tired they were not so bumpy that they knocked him out of his nap in the back seat!

Indianapolis was crazy with all the cloverleafs and exit ramps but we made it! I’m glad I stopped off at the Cambridge City, Indiana McDonald’s before entering the city for a strong black coffee!

It was a rather leisurely, but long, drive to our Air B&B in Covington. We filled our tank at the Marathon gas station just before we entered town for $62.70. Our unit at 202 Pearl Street is a “unique” circular type of a building (see photo to the right). Our daughter is not too thrilled with the layout, but my wife loves the river behind it, and you know that our son simply loves the fact that there is a McDonald’s right across the street!

For our evening meal the kids had, you guessed it, McDonalds, and my wife found a nice little Mexican restaurant for a take out of fajitas for her and I.

Our cat is enjoying sleeping in the closet in the main bedroom, but this evening the drugs wore off and he prowled around throughout the evening!

I got a chance to see a bit of the Quentin Tarrantino movie “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” from the couch as I updated this blog. When I lied down for a nap our cat came and lied on my legs.
