Daily Notes

2024-06-07 - Milano Cafe

I ordered the Comox version of Monopoly this morning while at my desk in the barn overlooking the trees in the back yard.

I finally made my first visit to Milano Coffee this morning. It cost over $10 for a large cappucinno and a Nanaimo bar (see photo to the left). Nice place, kind of like Starbucks, but I don’t think that it’s worth the price tag, at least for me. Panera Bread was pennies compared to $5.75 for large cappucinno here. I think I will just make my own coffee and have it on the barn patio while listening to the rooster crow!

While at Milano I examined my first lottery ticket that I picked up on our trip to Courtenay. This one was a Montana ticket, but alas, was not a winner! (see photo to the right).

After Milano I went to Dollarama to pick up a broom stick for a brush, and a brush for a broom stick, that my wife picked up the other day, and would not fit together. I also picked up a kitty litter scoop, and a little drawer to hold my cuttlery.

This evening my daughter and I went to Quality Foods to pick up some groceries. She was looking for some Bubble Tea for her brother and her, but there was none. I picked up some McCafe instant coffee, and creamer, some A&W pop, and other groceries. The idea was to stop off at Starbucks on the way home, but it closed at 8 pm!

On the way to my “Suite Over The Barn” this evening I threw a banana peel into the chicken coop. I figured that they might like to peck on it as it will be something different to experience. In addition, maybe it will attract insects and flies for them to eat as well!
