Daily Notes
After some quick morning work, and making a cup off coffee with some raisin toast, I checked my “Virginia Mega Millions” lottery ticket hoping to hit the jackpot. Bah, Humbug! Not a winner (see photo to the right).
Before I left to my appointment for the van windshield installation I attached the “bed sheet clips” to my bed so that the bed sheet does not keep falling off. Quite the exercise, but I did complete it!
My appointment at “Coastline Glass” was at 1 pm this afternoon. They said that it would take about two hours to install the new van windshield, so I walked over to the Tim Horton’s at the corner and had a habanero chicken wrap, large “double double” coffee, and a coconut donut. I started to read the “The Choice” by Edith Eger again. The highlights that I made when I started reading it in March means that I could quickly get up to speed to the newer sections.
There was this cool electric trike outside (see photo to the right). I went over to look at it and the owner came up to ask me if I had any questions. He even offered to give me a ride. It costs about $4000, so I’m going to think a lot about something like this before purchasing it. He said he bought it at COSTCO, and although they no longer sell it, they can order it for you.
By 3 pm the new windshield was in the van and I could go home. The movers with the “rest of our stuff” arrived while I was away. Apparently the driver was doing a “favor” for Nick, the original driver, who left a lot of our stuff in the van despite having a spreadsheet of all the contents he was supposed to follow while unloading. Don’t get me started on that… Oh well, at least now we have the rest of our belongings, like the “drywall lift” and the television that was attached to the wall in the bedroom.
Robert, our next door neighbor, gave us a beautiful salmon that he caught. We had it tonight for dinner and was it ever delicious! We will have to have them over to show our appreciation.
My daughter has really been wanting to see “Inside Out 2”, the sequel to the original movie we watched back in 2015! We could have invited our son, but this was a very nostalgic movie for her so it was just her and I for the 9:10 pm show! The Landmark Theater has beautiful recliner seats (see photo to the right). Tuesday night is “special” night, so we each got a medium popcorn and had the drink for free. I also bought a package of “Nibs” that we shared. She later told me that she cried a lot through this movie and thinks it is the best movie she has ever seen!
