2025-03-22 - Chicken Scratch

The photo to the right shows the “Chicken Scratch” that I picked up at Shar-Kare the other day.

Well, it’s 4:45 am, and I just had a very interesting dream. I thought I would come to my computer and record it! Here it is in a nutshell:

I was with my actual family in a movie theater. My wife, my daughter, my son, and myself. We were watching what I can only describe as a home movie that I had made. Why we were showing it in a theater with all these other people around I’m not sure… You know how dreams go… 🙂 At any rate, once the movie ended, the dialogue of Evie talking to Kirk started… I guess when I created this home movie I didn’t edit it, and this dialogue got added to the end. It looked like it was going to go on and on and there was no operator behind the projector, so I went looking for him. Meanwhile, this dialogue was being blasted throughout the movie theater! I went all around the place and ended up at the concession stand where I asked if there was a movie operator to shut it off. The girl there at the stand mocked me, and then her friend joined in, so I left. As I was going back to the seats where my family was I went past the operator who woke up and rushed over to shut the projector off. This operator looked exactly like my friend Bill from college, but I was not sure if it was him, or a double… When I started to complain that he should keep a better eye on the projector he decided to not shut it off, but instead, go all around the theater speaking the dialogue that Evie was saying. He even went up to my wife and family, and at this point, I woke up…

So, what was this dream all about? Well, I’ve been reading the “Busting Loose From The Money Game” book in which he talks about how life is like a movie, similar to the dreams we have at night. The elements of my family going to a movie theater is similar to the Landmark Cinema in Courtenay. The dialogue is of course that of Evie. The girl at the concession stand could be similar to the caustic girl outside of Aldi a year ago. Is this what this was all about?

I’m thinking of maybe starting up a company again, this time in Canada. Here are a couple of questions I have for the accountant:

  • I would be interested in selling “Print on Demand” type products in Canada and the US. As such, I will probably get a US based “Print on Demand” company to ship products to my US customers and a Canadian based “Print on Demand” company to ship products to my Canadian customers. Would the be preferable with potential tariffs looming?
  • It is my understanding that I could sell digital download products from the website without the worry of tariffs, correct?
